Guidelines for Submission


University of Asia Pacific Journal of Law & Policy

The UAP Journal of Law and Policy accepts English language submissions to be considered for publication. Submissions are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. The Journal is a generalist publication that welcomes submissions in all areas of law and Policy. The accepted papers are published online first and the hard copy once a year. The UAP Journal of Law and Policy encourages scholars and practitioners to submit manuscripts of different categories. The most common categories of submissions are Article, Book Review and Case Comments.

The submissions are subject to a rigorous review process, which includes peer review prior to acceptance. Submissions must respect the conditions outlined on this page to be considered.

 

1. AUTHOR GUIDELINES: ARTICLE

General guidelines

  • The manuscript must be original and unpublished.
  • Maximum number of authors: 4.
  • Submit directly to Editor-in-Chief: uapjlp@uap-bd.edu
  • Authors must follow the required format strictly.
  • Citations: Chicago Manual of Style (latest edition, footnotes system).
  • All manuscripts will go through double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers.
  • Revised submissions must include a point-by-point reply to reviewers’ comments.

Title

Concise, informative, reflective of the content, and written in academic language.

Author Information

  • Name(s) of author(s)
  • Affiliation(s): institution, department, city, state, country
  • Active email address of corresponding author
  • 16-digit ORCID (if available)

Abstract

Maximum 200 words, single-spaced, 11-point font. Must include purpose, methodology, results, and conclusion emphasizing new contributions.

Keywords

3–5 keywords must be provided.

Formatting

  • Length: 7000–10000 words (excluding title page & abstract)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12pt, 1.5 spacing
  • Quotes over 25 words: indented, 11pt, single-spaced
  • Footnotes: 10pt font, 1.5 spacing

Citations

Chicago Manual of Style (latest edition), footnote system.

2. AUTHOR GUIDELINES: BOOK REVIEW

  • Length: 1500–3000 words (including references, Chicago style).
  • Book must contribute significantly to the field and academic discourse.
  • Reviewer must provide full book details: title, author, year, publisher, pages, ISBN.
  • Review should be critical analysis, not just summary.

3. AUTHOR GUIDELINES: CASE COMMENTS

  • Max 3000 words including footnotes.
  • Must include abstract & table of contents.
  • Author must identify institutional affiliation.

Important Note

Manuscripts not adhering to formatting & citation rules will be returned without review.
